Obedience to Law Is Liberty

A talk by Elder L. Tom Perry Men and women receive their agency as a gift from God, but their liberty and, in turn, their eternal happiness come from obedience to His laws. None of us should ever underestimate how driven Satan is to succeed. His role in God’s eternal plan creates “opposition in all things” ( 2 Nephi 2:11 ) and tests our agency. Each choice you and I make is a test of our agency—whether we choose to be obedient or disobedient to the commandments of God is actually a choice between “liberty and eternal life” and “captivity and death.” Stand ye in Holy Places and Be Not Moved. I am a very religious person, and I know that following God's commandments are hard, I often make mistakes and break the rules and do things which I know are not good for me. But I know that God is forgiving and loves me, and I always have a way back. I felt like sharing a spiritual message today, because I was moved during church today, and for anyone who wanders upon this message, I...

10/15/12(wilderness journal - Prayer)

Wilderness was a really tough spot for me, and this is something i wrote while i was in wilderness about prayer. I learned that praying really helped me get through though sh*t, I talked to God as if he was right next to me, i told him all my stuggles and frustrations, i cried to him and with him, i asked him directly for help, for hope, for forgiveness, for acceptance, for love and for strength. God was my only friend at the time, he was the only one i felt safe with talking to. I wish we could truly, undeniably know that he exsists and that he loves every single person on earth no matter what. I wish everyone felt his love, and i wish people didnt blame him. Life is life and God doesnt control it, he just puts everything here to see how we handle it. Life is all a matter of choices that we all make on a daily basis, its a test with no real "right" or "wrong" answers. with love, Arianna
